Rice International Programs

Rice University’s Office of International Programs offers more than 500 programs and administers study and work abroad opportunities for undergraduates. The programs provide excellent academic opportunities for Rice undergraduates and incoming international exchange students, and they promote goodwill and international understanding between participating universities. To that end, Rice students participating in an exchange program are eligible to apply for the International Programs Ambassadorial Scholarship and other university or national scholarships.

There are a number of exchange programs that are particularly well-suited to engineering students, including opportunities in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, Argentina and the United Kingdom. In addition to Rice University exchange programs, there is also a wide range of Rice-approved semester or year-long study abroad programs offered through other providers.

We encourage all engineering students to being investigating study abroad opportunities early and attend a Step One Advising session during their Freshman year.  Then Ratna Sarkar can assist you with choosing an appropriate program and time frame and help with course equivalencies and credit transfer issues.
